Yesterday, third grade had a fun day traveling from country to country (classroom to classroom) learning about how different holidays are celebrated around the world. Students learned facts about each holiday and made a craft. Students had a passport and received a stamp for each country they visited. They also had a suitcase (plastic bag) with luggage tag to carry all of their belongings with them from county to country.

Mr. Harris held down the fort yesterday in Mrs. Beard's class. Check out the amazing Christmas tree craft they made. Not only during the holidays, but all year long, we are so thankful for our substitute teachers. We would be lost without them!

Mrs. Clark's class is busy doing holiday themed stations! First grade is fun!

Penguin Problems!? Students in Mrs. Thornhill’s class used both addition and subtraction problems to make sums and differences up to 15!

Thank you CCHS band and choir for filling our gym with Christmas spirit today!!!

Friends in Mrs. Malone's class helped out the elf by building him a shelf! Now he doesn't have to sit on the floor! Way to go kindergartners!

Mrs. Wheeler's reading class made Christmas cards and lists while listening to Christmas carols. The best part was using glitter to put on the finishing touches.

Due to the the two hour delay, breakfast will not be served this morning.

Two of our newest stallion staff members are really getting into the spirit around here! Check out Mrs. Cruz, and her mini me, and Mrs. Parkinson! Festive for sure!

Due to the winter weather advisory, CCPS will open 2 hours late on Thursday, December 15, 2022. Twelve month employees report two hours late, essential personnel report on time.
We will monitor weather and road conditions and revise our inclement weather status if necessary. Any status change will be made no later than 7 a.m.

Students in Mrs. Yost’s class completed an erosion experiment where they observed "rocks" in the form of 3 different types of candy. They paid close attention to how the rocks were changed by moving water vs still water!

Congratulations to all of our spelling bee contestants who participated in today’s spelling bee. Special shout out to our top three winners who will move on to the county bee in January. Go stallions!

Today was the first run of the Specially Brewed Coffee Cart! The students had a great time delivering coffee and hot chocolate to staff. We cannot thank those that donated items to our coffee cart and those that ordered from us enough. Thank you all for supporting our children.

We have a lot to be thankful for here at Yowell. Some students in fourth grade have been working on a writing piece dedicated to something they are grateful for. Here are some highlights from Ms. Heaney's reading class. We hope that you have a safe holiday break and that you take this time with your loved ones to reflect on all the things that you have to be thankful for.

We would just like to say thank you to everyone for their support during last week's production of 101 Dalmatians. We couldn't have done it without our volunteers, parents and amazing Yowell staff! We had a great time and can't wait for next year.
