Happy Sunday Emerald Hill Eagles! This is Dr. Gelbert. The Book Fair is coming to the library this week. The fair will run from Monday, October 2nd, through Monday, October 9th. Students will shop on their library resource day. Information was sent home this past week. Thank you in advance for supporting our school library! Our EHE tailgate for students and families at CCHS’ home football game is this Friday, October 6th. The tailgate will be from 6-8pm and the Blue Devils will reserve a spot on the inside of the track for us to set up! The game starts at 7pm. CCHS has agreed to let our students run onto the field after the players at the beginning of the game again this year! This was such a fun experience last year and I’m already looking forward to it again this year! Also, every student that attends will receive a free sports-related book and a free candy bar from the concession stand. Tickets for the game are $8 at the gate. We hope to see you and your families there! Looking ahead, our PTO will be having a spirit night at Steak N Cheese Please on Tuesday, October 10th. We hope you are able to join us to enjoy a yummy meal with your family. Also looking ahead, there is no school for students on Friday, October 13th. School will be closed for a Teacher Workday. Happy Sunday Emerald Hill Eagles! This is Dr. Gelbert. Thank you to all of our families that came to our Back to School Night. It was a fun night and I loved seeing all the creative activities the teachers had for the kids! A huge thank you to Kona Ice who donated $280 from all that you purchased! Our SCA has voted on our next spirit day, 80’s Day. Students will be able to wear 80’s attire to school on Friday, September 29th. Looking ahead, we are teaming up with CCHS again to host an EHE tailgate for students and families at their home football game on October 6th. This Friday is International Dot Day! International Dot Day is a celebration of collaboration, courage, and creativity inspired by Peter H. Reynolds book "The Dot" Due to the Fun Run on Friday, our Eagles are invited to celebrate International Dot Day by wearing dots on Thursday this week. Mrs. Bridges 2nd grade class took advantage of the hot temps last week and made predictions about what color crayons would melt first and at what temperature. They made observations and concluded that blue melted first at 94 degrees.

Thank you to all of our families that have either donated to or found sponsors for the fundraiser! We have a goal of raising $50,000. Our Fun Run will be this coming Friday, September 15th.
