Our very own preschool students finished their penguin collages in art yesterday. They turned out positively penguin perfect!

Mrs. Hook's class had a busy January finding fun ways to learn! They have been working with larger numbers and have been using their encoding skills to write sentences! Way to go, Kindergarten!

Students in Mrs. Sodano's 4th grade class worked their way through a digital breakout based on facts they learned about The American Revolution. They worked hard and used all their knowledge to crack the codes and successfully "breakout".

Mrs. Button's students are working hard and making progress in both their reading and math skills, all the while having fun in the classroom!

Students in Ms. Heaney’s fourth grade reading class celebrated the Lunar New Year by reading all about the holiday. They also made envelopes containing pretend money, just like the real ones children receive in Asian cultures! On the dollar bills, they listed positive character traits about themselves. This made us feel rich in our hearts! Happy (Lunar) New Year! Or Gung Hay Fat Choy as they say in Cantonese!

We’ve officially made it to the 100th day of school! 🎉 We’re 100 days smarter, stronger, and ready for even more growth. Here’s to the amazing progress we’ve made and the exciting learning ahead! ✨ #100DaysSmarter #OnToTheNext

Mrs. Jenkins' class enjoyed "pop" floats as a classroom reward for spelling Stallions. Students earn a letter for each compliment received by teachers in the building. They also incorporated a little science in the treat, with a review of solids, liquids, and gases. Way to go Stallions!

3rd graders used painted paper in Mrs. Korona's art class to create magical forest collages!

Stallions, guess what day we will celebrate tomorrow? It's the 100th Day of School! So dress like you're 100 years old, head on into school with a math problem that equals 100 in your brain and get ready for some fun! We can't wait to celebrate this amazing day with you!

Mrs. Beard’s Class played a musical pattern scoot game. Students first created repeating patterns with snap cubes. When the music began, students danced or walked around the room. When the music stopped, students transferred the patterns with letters and numbers!

Congratulations to our very own Carson, Savannah and Kassidi on their participation in the county wide spelling bee last night. Special shout out to Kassadi who came in third for our county! Way to go stallions! You all make us so proud!

Mrs. Bopp’s second grade class read “The Snow Globe Family” and then wrote about what life would be like living inside a snow globe. The also reviewed place value for three digit numbers by creating bees. Look for these to be flying in the hall in February. Will you BEE my valentine?

We couldn't agree more with our third graders who helped create this bulletin board in honor of Administration Appreciation Week. Thank you Mrs. Fiscus, Mrs. Ward, and Mr. Slezak for all you do for us here at Yowell! We are so lucky to have you!

5th graders from Mrs. Zajkowski's class got to play their favorite game in Music class... Drumong Us! Drumong Us is a game where classmates work together to try to find the "imposters" while playing a rhythm on the drums! If they can't find all 3 imposters before the end of class, the imposters win!

Mrs. Frack’s Pre-K class is having a great first week back after break and is beginning their Creative Curriculum Buildings Study. They have spent the week exploring pictures of various kinds of buildings, as well as the inside/outside of our school building. They are also having lots of fun playing and learning with many new building-
themed toys, games, and stories in their classroom.
