Happy Sunday Emerald Hill Eagles! Our 100th day of school is Tuesday, January 28th. On Tuesday, we will be doing some fun events. We will also have a spirit day: Dress Like You Are 100! We look forward to seeing our students dressed up on this fun day and celebrating being 100 days smarter! Emerald Hill is selling Valentine’s Day Candy Grams. Candy Grams are $1 a piece. Fliers with more information were sent home on Friday. If you are interested in participating, all money and tags are due by February 10th. Make sure to get your orders in if you are interested in participating. Additionally, we are excited to announce that we are offering special Valentine’s Day treat buckets for parents/guardians to purchase for their students. Buckets are $12 a piece. More information will be sent home from your child’s teacher in their weekly communication. Quantities are limited so be sure to get your orders in soon if you are interested in purchasing a bucket for your child(ren). Unfortunately, we are seeing an increase in respiratory and gastrointestinal viruses. If your child has a fever or gastrointestinal concerns, keep them home until they are fever or vomit free for 24 hours. A big congratulations to all the students who participated in yesterday’s annual spelling bee! It was an exciting competition, and we’re thrilled to share the results: Teddy from Mrs. Stotts' class earned third place, Jesse from Mrs. Gaulden's class took second, and Zoe from Mrs. Stotts' class claimed the top spot as our first-place winner. These talented spellers will represent our school at the county bee on January 22nd—way to go! A big thank you goes out to Mr. Lacey and all the school staff who worked hard to organize this wonderful event and to the parents who came out to cheer on their spellers. Your support makes all the difference!

Good morning, Emerald Hill families! Tomorrow is an SCA Spirit Day, Giving Day! Rather than asking you to dress your child up, we are asking you to help us make the holidays special for our neighbors in need. The Culpeper Christmas Basket needs your donations more than ever! Currently our school has brought in 1320 donations which is quite a ways off from our goal of 5000. Please help us bring that total up by sending in non-perishable food items or writing a check payable to CCCBP to help support this amazing program. Every item or dollar donated will go towards a drawing that will give your child's class a chance to win a treat. After the final collection on Monday, the classes from each grade level who brought in the most donations overall will earn an ice cream party! There are still two more days to donate! The Christmas Basket folks will be here bright and early on Tuesday with their trucks to collect everything you've sent in. Let's rally and help fill those trucks all the way up!

Happy Giving Tuesday, Emerald Hill families! So far, the Christmas Basket food drive has collected over one thousand items for our neighbors in need. Last year, our school brought in over six thousand items! I know that our community has the giving spirit to make it happen again. There are still 4 more days to bring in donations! Also, the EHE SCA has chosen Giving Day as the December spirit day. Rather than dressing up, we are asking students to bring their gifting spirit this Friday. You can participate by bringing in extra items for the food drive, drawing a picture for a staff member, or writing a nice note for someone special. Thank you in advance for your generosity!
