Happy Sunday Emerald Hill Eagles! We had a great first full week of school! There were lots of yawns and tired students by Friday, but it was a great week! We will be having our next fire drill this coming week. State code requires schools to complete at least two fire drills during the first 20 days of school. Moving forward, you will receive notification once a month of upcoming fire drills. Throughout the year if you ever have questions or concerns about your child and their progress, please reach out to your child’s teacher to schedule an in person or virtual conference. There are no designated Parent/Teacher Conference dates on the CCPS calendar this year; however, they will always be happy to meet with you to discuss your child should a need arise. If you ever want to schedule a conference, please email them at their school address. Looking ahead, there is a 4 day weekend coming up. We will have no school on Friday, August 30th, as well as Monday, September 2nd. During those days, our offices will be closed. Tomorrow is a day 2 in our resource rotation. Happy Sunday Emerald Hill Eagles! We had a great first two days of school! I missed seeing all the smiling faces on Friday, but I hope you all had a safe and dry long weekend. Next week we will be having our first fire drill of the school year. Fire drills are an essential part of our safety protocols which help ensure that students and staff are well prepared in case of an emergency. Teachers will discuss fire drill procedures with their class and we will practice how to safely exit the building. Please remind your children of the importance of safety drills and reassure them that drills are one aspect to keeping them safe at school. Tomorrow is a day 3 in our resource rotation. Culpeper County Schools will be closed tomorrow, Friday, August 9, 2024 due to the potential impacts of Tropical Storm Debby. In addition, all evening activities scheduled for tonight are canceled. 12 month employees do not report. Essential personnel report on time.

Our bus drivers have been out practicing their routes today getting ready for a great start to the 24-25 school year. Families should expect to receive their bus information via text message on August 1, 2024. Routes will also be posted to the CCPS transportation website.

Parents/Guardians of students who were enrolled in Culpeper County Public Schools for the 2023-2024 school year should have received an email earlier today to complete a registration update for the 2024-2025 school year. If you did not receive the link, click here: https://www.culpeperschools.org/o/ccps/page/returning-student-registration This registration update for “returning students” is required in order for students to start school on August 7th. If you completed a "New School Enrollment" for 2024-2025, you do not need to complete "Returning Student Registration." It is extremely important that families log in to their parent portal account and complete the “returning student” registration for each child in school. This is an opportunity to review and update any changes to your address, phone numbers, email, health information, emergency contacts, and transportation plan for the new school year. For issues logging in to Parent Portal or to request paper registration forms, families should contact their child’s school.
