Happy Sunday Emerald Hill Eagles! This is Dr. Gelbert. We have some exciting things happening at Emerald Hill this week! On Thursday, the Harlem Wizards will be coming by Emerald Hill for a presentation for our students. We are looking forward to hosting the short presentation and providing our students with this fun opportunity. The Harlem Wizards will be playing a full game, with some CCPS staff, on Thursday, October 19th at Eastern View High School at 7pm. If you’re interested in attending Eastern View’s Harlem Wizard fundraiser, more information can be found on their athletic website at easternviewathletics.com. Also, this coming Friday is our Trunk or Treat event. Ticket sales are complete at this time, but we look forward to seeing all of our students that pre-purchased tickets at our Trunk or Treat on Friday from 6-7:30pm. The four FFA chapters within the middle and high schools in Culpeper County are collectively hosting a Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 21st from 10am-2pm on the lawn at Eastern View High School. There will be free pumpkins for the first 50 children. The festival will include a variety of educational stations revolving around agricultural topics along with fun and games. This is a great way to make some extra money and work a flexible schedule. Rates vary from $126 - $183 per day. Our next orientation session is on October 25th so apply today at culpeperschools.org

Happy Sunday Emerald Hill Eagles! This is Dr. Gelbert We are super excited for our Trunk or Treat that is coming up on Friday, October 20th. Information about the Trunk or Treat was sent home with students last week. We are still in need of trunkers! If you are interested in being a trunker, forms and money for wrist bands need to be turned in by October 11th so we can plan accordingly. If your child would like to participate as a treater, forms and payment need to be turned in by October 13th. Tickets for Trunk or Treat will not be sold at the event. If you have any questions, or need additional forms, please contact the office to assist you. For this week, our PTO will be having a spirit night at Steak N Cheese Please on Tuesday, October 10th. We hope you are able to join us to enjoy a yummy meal with your family. The end of our first grading period is Thursday, October 12th and we will have no school for students on Friday, October 13th. Happy Sunday Emerald Hill Eagles! This is Dr. Gelbert. The Book Fair is coming to the library this week. The fair will run from Monday, October 2nd, through Monday, October 9th. Students will shop on their library resource day. Information was sent home this past week. Thank you in advance for supporting our school library! Our EHE tailgate for students and families at CCHS’ home football game is this Friday, October 6th. The tailgate will be from 6-8pm and the Blue Devils will reserve a spot on the inside of the track for us to set up! The game starts at 7pm. CCHS has agreed to let our students run onto the field after the players at the beginning of the game again this year! This was such a fun experience last year and I’m already looking forward to it again this year! Also, every student that attends will receive a free sports-related book and a free candy bar from the concession stand. Tickets for the game are $8 at the gate. Happy Sunday Emerald Hill Eagles! This is Dr. Gelbert. Thank you to all of our families that came to our Back to School Night. It was a fun night and I loved seeing all the creative activities the teachers had for the kids! A huge thank you to Kona Ice who donated $280 from all that you purchased! Our SCA has voted on our next spirit day, 80’s Day. Students will be able to wear 80’s attire to school on Friday, September 29th. Looking ahead, we are teaming up with CCHS again to host an EHE tailgate for students and families at their home football game on October 6th. The tailgate will be from 6-8pm and the Blue Devils will reserve a spot on the inside of the track for us to set up! The game starts at 7pm. Every student that attends will receive a free sports-related book and a free candy bar from the concession stand. Tickets for the game are $8 at the gate.
