Dismissal has been getting faster and faster everyday. Thank you all for your patience and understanding as we continue to fine tune our procedures. Dismissal changes should be made in the form of a note turned in to your child’s teacher, however, if you must call to make a change in dismissal, please have all dismissal changes into the office before 2pm each day. Just a reminder, students are not able to be picked up for early dismissal in the office after 2:30 each school day. Any car that arrives to pick up after 2:30 will be routed in our dismissal line.
Tomorrow is a day 4 in our resource rotation.
Have a great rest of your weekend and remember to learn every day!

Happy first day of school, Eagle families! As we begin the new school year, we would like to introduce our new teaching staff. Today we are featuring Mrs. Hoffman!
We are so excited to welcome Mrs. Hoffman to our 4th grade team. She writes:
"Hi! I am Mrs. Hoffman and I love reading and quilting! A fun fact about me is that I have lived around the world! From Germany to Bahrain and all over the United States. I am passionate about teaching and am looking forward to using as many innovative and hands-on teaching activities as possible. Learning should be fun! "

Happy Sunday Emerald Hill Eagles! This is Dr. Gelbert.
We are very excited to start another school year with you! At Emerald Hill we are Lifelong Learners and this year our theme is Learning is a Journey That Never Ends. We look forward to going on this journey with you and your children this year and learning every day.
Meet the Teacher Night is tomorrow, August 7th from 1-6pm. Our teachers are excited to welcome everyone back and meet all of their new students. During Meet the Teacher Night, Mrs. Lane and I will be in our Eagles’ Aerie with an activity. Feel free to stop by to meet with us after you have an opportunity to meet your child’s teacher.
Our first day of school will be Wednesday, August 9th. If your child is riding the bus to school on Wednesday, please have them out at the bus stop a few minutes early as bus route times are approximate. Bus routes have been posted on the CCPS transportation website. Students not riding a bus may be dropped off between 7:40-8:15am in the loop to the right of the building. Parents may park in the main lot and walk their children to their classrooms on the first day of school. Our tardy bell rings at 8:15am.
This year our dismissal time is 3:00pm. Again, bus route times are approximate so students may be dropped off a little before or after the time that is posted. Transportation created a document we will update daily that includes the time each bus left our parking lot, and any notes to go along with dismissal (buses running late, buses ahead of schedule, etc.). The link to the bus dismissal document can be found on our EHE website starting the first day of school. If you are picking up your child, cars can start lining up at 2:40pm and dismissal will occur between 3:00-3:20pm. Any parent arriving before 2:40pm should park in the numbered spots in the upper parking lot. This year we will continue to use our numbered car tag system for student pick up. If you did not get a car tag last year, or have a new student, we will have a table in the front lobby during Meet the Teacher Night where parents can get a car tag.
Wednesday, the first day of school, will be a day 1 in our resource rotation.
Have a great rest of your weekend and remember to learn every day!

Parents/Guardians of students who were enrolled in Culpeper County Public Schools for the 2022-2023 school year should have received an email earlier today to complete a registration update for the 2023-2024 school year. If families did not receive the email, there is a link on the CCPS website.
This registration update for “returning students” is required in order for students to start school on August 9th.
It is extremely important that families log in to their parent portal account and complete the “returning student” registration update for each child in school. This is an opportunity to review and update any changes to your address, phone numbers, email, health information, emergency contacts, and transportation plan for the new school year.
For issues logging in to Parent Portal or to request paper registration forms, families should contact their child’s school.
