
This afternoon Emerald Hill held the annual school spelling bee! All of the participants did an outstanding job. Special congratulations to the top three spellers who will go on to compete in the county spelling bee in January!

Emerald Hill has been participating in the Culpeper Christmas Basket Program and we can’t believe the amount of items that have been turned in already! Thank you for helping us make the holidays special for all our neighbors in need! If you would still like to participate, please have all items turned in by Tuesday morning.
Also, our PTO fundraiser, Candy Grams, will be accepting orders through tomorrow, Monday, December 12th. Make sure to get your orders in if you are interested in participating.
Looking ahead we will not have school December 22nd-January 3rd for our winter break and we will look forward to welcoming our students back on January 4th.
Culpeper County Public Schools is transitioning to a new robocall platform. Emerald Hill will be piloting the new platform next Sunday. Should you not receive the robocall, or the email, please let us know.

PTO will be having their monthly meeting on Thursday, December 8th at 3:15pm here at Emerald Hill. All parents are welcome.

Last week, after reading Balloons over Broadway, some of our 3rd graders created their own parade floats and brought them to life with the help of Ozobots!





EHE is collecting canned and boxed food for the Culpeper Christmas Basket. As of this morning, our school has collected 1000 items! Each donation counts as one entry for your class towards a weekly prize drawing. We can also accept cash donations! Thank you for your support!

Our SCA has voted on our next spirit day, Cozy Day. Students will be able to wear pajamas and cozy school-appropriate attire to school on Tuesday, November 22nd.
Our PTO is pre-selling new spirit wear until November 22nd. This year they are featuring a special 25th anniversary shirt along with a sweatshirt option. Ms. Thomas' 4th grade class created a Colonial Museum of "bottle people" that represented historical figures of the time period.


Our Girls on the Run team made bracelets, blankets, and cards to donate to the Culpeper Senior Living Community as their community impact project. The girls had a wonderful fall season!

Ms. Thomas' 4th grade class spent the morning creating a Math Pumpkin Patch while perfecting their skills with area, perimeter, and 2 x 2 digit multiplication.

Tomorrow is Halloween. Students may wear costumes to school tomorrow. Student costumes should not interfere with their learning and can’t include weapons or face masks.
Looking ahead, we will not have school on November 8th.
Unfortunately, we have seen an increase in flu and flu-like symptoms here at Emerald Hill over the past two weeks. Just a reminder, if your child has a fever of 100.4 or higher or has vomited within the last 24 hours, please keep them home and make sure to call the office to let us know they will be out that day. Additionally, our clinic closet is low on pants. If you have any school-age sized pants you would like to donate, Nurse Kendra would be happy to accept them.
